The theme 2025 is EMPTY SPACE

For Newton and his law of universal gravitation it was necessary that there existed a priori a ‘’space‘’, a stage within which the drama of matter and its laws could unfold. This space was in itself theoretically ‘’empty‘’ and was occupied by physical bodies, which underwent precise ‘’forces‘’ there. It was precisely over this that there was a long dispute between him and Leibniz, and from that dispute arose the first problems - philosophical and physical at the same time - over the very concept of space and the void.
