Mattia Trotta - Sculptor

Born in Savona in 1980, he lives and works in Valcamonica in the village of Bienno in the province of Brescia. He is a mechanical technical expert, and an expert in technologies and industrial production.

He has always been self-taught in the field of visual arts and has been a professional since 2007.

In 2002 he created his first sculptural works in iron wire with a personal and innovative technique, thanks to which he initially managed to distinguish himself, and which he continued to develop until he soon obtained important recognitions both in the public and in the private sector.

His research is often aimed at re-reading classical and Christian iconography, at tackling existential themes in a Christological key by creating symbolic and archetypal figures.

The study and representation of the human figure not as a being placed at the center of the world but as a creature closest to God, the fulcrum of the universe, around which the struggle between order and chaos, between good and evil does not end and man is called to take part.

In recent years his sculptures are mostly made of bronze and/or corten steel wire.
