The oldest fountain in Bienne, built in the Baroque style in the early 17th century. All that remains of it is the back panel on a shaped base, on which three decorated panels are set: the two side panels are embellished with acanthus leaves, and the central panel features a rose window supporting a water spout; superimposed on the latter is a medallion with a mask. The basin was likely dismantled due to traffic-related issues. In 2005, the municipal administration reinstalled the supports (found below street level during construction work) and restored the walls. The residents of Bienne can once again enjoy this important fountain.
