The mighty pure gold sculpture of Christ the King with its eight meters of height, the work of the darfur sculptor Timo Bortolotti, dominates the heart of the Valle Camonica from the Colle della Maddalena di Bienno.
The work was commissioned by the entire Valley to solemnize the great event of the Conciliation between the Vatican State and the Kingdom of Italy with the Lateran Pacts.

These words were then engraved at the foot of the colossus.

It was then erected, as a base of the Great Statue, a suffrage Chapel and in memory of the Fallen of all the wars of the entire Valley.
Inside there is a large Crucifix with Mary Magdalene at the feet, the apostle St. John and the Madonna.
These wooden sculptures are attributed to the Fantoni school, even if some details recall the art of Beniamino Simoni.

The Colle della Maddalena offers tourists a complete immersion as well as in art, even in nature.
From the top, the gaze can span the whole valley and enjoy a panorama that offers itself in all its splendor.

On the Hill the Santa Biennese Geltrude Comensoli went to prayer.
