Valiga House or Artist's House

Casa Valiga is a small building with a Renaissance facade that contains architectural elements and valuable decorative solutions.
The plaster on the facade retains traces of a lozenge decoration.

The building, preceded by a very small cobbled courtyard, was the commercial and representative office of the nearby palace and probably belonged to a family of merchants.
In fact, in the hall on the main floor, two writings have been found whose translation (“Getting busy is the mother of riches” and “Its damage is your gain”) is a true ideological manifesto of the commercial bourgeoisie activity.

The frescoes that decorate the large "caminata" hall have a central decoration taken from Dante Alighieri's Canto 1 of Inferno and from Petrarch's Triumphs.

The painter's figurative language demonstrates that he draws it from the bibliographic sources available.

Today Casa Valiga is owned by the Mountain Community of Valle Camonica and, with its exhibition area and its workshops, it has become the official headquarters of Bienno Borgo Artisti 2.0 (for this reason today it is called Casa degli Artisti).

Here artists gather together, study, create and display the fruits of their passion with art exhibitions and presentations.
