Mechanical crib

Going up the streets of the historical center, just under the Parish Church, the mechanical nativity scene has been standing for tens of years.

Made by the Bienno artist Tonino Ciceri (1930 - 2018) the work depicts not only the birth of Jesus but also the symbols of the village of Bienno, including our churches and forges where even now as iron works hundreds of years ago.

For years, however, the work of Tonino was malfunctioning and remained motionless throughout the year.

In 2017 the municipal administration entrusted the Biennese Oscar Bellicini with the task of bringing this heritage back to life and within a few months the crib began to work perfectly.
