Routes

A set of routes, whose centre is Bienno, have been created little by little during the years, confirming the identity of Bienno as a crossroads of people.

The Romanino way, that goes from Sebino to the Camonica Valley” is the path that connects, in the footsteps of the homonymous great master from Brescia, the municipalities of Tavernola Bergamasca, Pisogne, Bienno and Breno, where the artist left important traces of his old passage. The presbytery of the Saint Mary degli Orti Church in Bienno is significant.

Discovering the Vaso Re (the Re Duct), long the story illustrated by the water”, on the contrary, is a route that has been entirely proposed in the territory of Bienno and it allows you to relive the millenary industrial history of the village.
The route runs along the old pipe and leads to discover its secret spots and ingenious machineries.

Enlarging a bit the wide range of action and quickening the steps, the route “Hermitages-Sources-Antiquities-Landscapes: along the Barberino paths” allows you to discover, in just a few kilometres covered slowly on the gentle hill ridge that divides The Grigna Valley from the Camonica Valley, a striking world full of landscapes, hermitages, churches and monasteries, that are of a rare preciousness and old foundations.

The story of the stones”, at the state of project, will be the route that allows you to discover the secrets of the old centre of one of the most beautiful Italian villages.

The province of Brescia, in a twinning project with other European nations “European Ways-the Camonica Valley, the way of Signs”, has organized an interesting trekking on both sides of the Camonica Valley, from Sebino to UNESCO site of Capo di Ponte, and Bienno is one of the stage points.
