By visiting the Val Grigna and observing the surrounding natural environment, the kids will discover why Bienno is
become an iron processing center since ancient times. Here, in fact, the territory, rich in raw materials, allowed
the development of ironiness that the industriousness of the Biennese has transformed into a real art.

Forge Museum:
Guided tour of the Forge Museum in Bienno. On the lower floor you can admire a medieval forge completely
functioning, while on the upper floor you can access the collection of mining finds found during excavations in the
Campolungo iron mine (1400 m asl). You can watch a demonstration of forging with the water hammer.

Workshops attached to the Forge Museum:
The overhang or forge of creativity: the boys will realize, through the overhang technique, real works of art.
By modeling copper sheets in relief, they will learn the malleability of some materials.
The jewels: with colored metal wires and foils, the pupil will test his or her manual skills

Mill Museum:
Guided tour of some sections of the Vaso Re, an extraordinary medieval hydraulic engineering work, a source of energy for the various
factories in the town of Bienno. Guided visit to the mill dating back to the 1400s and to the annexed housing structure, a real one
ethnographic museum.

Workshops attached to the Mill Museum:
Grain grinding: During the laboratory activity the children will be stimulated to observe the different types of cereals for flour,
object of cultivation, yesterday and today, in the rugged soils of the Camonica Valley, to try to grasp its similarities and differences.
Using the five senses, they will then manipulate the different grains and, through the teaching of making, will be able to experiment with the
grinding them with the use of stone grinders and grinders and thus obtaining different flours both in color and in the grain and in the
flavor.
Artistic workshop: In the workshop the kids will be able to try their hand at creating polymaterial works using grains and
flour.

These visit modules have been designed exclusively for school environments.
Rates valid only for visits made on weekdays
Fees are calculated on at least 20 participants. 1 free ticket is granted for every 10 paying guests.
For groups over 40 units the group will be divided. For groups of less than 20 units quotas on request

The modules can be taken individually (half day visit), or combined with each other (half day visit
extended, or full day). They can be carried out both in the morning and in the afternoon
